The Manila Ecclesiastical Province School Systems Association (MaPSA) has embarked on a pioneering initiative to shape the future of Catholic education in the age of artificial intelligence through its AI Use Policy Development Project, in partnership with Rex Education. This collaboration underscores the shared commitment of both institutions to promote responsible, ethical, and values-driven integration of AI technologies in education.
Held on September 16, 2025, the project’s first workshop brought together school leaders, administrators, and educators from across the province. The session was led by Francis Jim Tuscano, an esteemed educator and edtech leader known for his advocacy in meaningful technology integration. Through the workshop, participants explored the potential of AI tools to enhance teaching and learning while ensuring that their use remains grounded in Catholic principles and human-centered values.
The initiative aims to guide schools in developing comprehensive AI policies that uphold ethical standards, protect learners, and strengthen the mission of Catholic education in forming responsible digital citizens. As AI continues to reshape the educational landscape, the project seeks to equip schools with frameworks and practical strategies for adopting AI in ways that support innovation without compromising moral and spiritual development.
